My new bag of Purina Flock Raiser has a different mill date format compared to the bags I’ve been getting up until now, and I’m having a hard time deciphering the date. It used to be one digit for the year first (so a 2 for 2022), then three letters for the month (e.g. JAN), then two digits for the day, then GNY and then another digit or two that I don’t care about. However, my new bag has 5 digits before the GNY, and I can’t figure out how to break them down into a date… Guessing 2 for 2022, but then what? 1 for January seems odd, should be 01, and so on.

Here’s the tag. Any ideas?

No I am not… Check out the link to other thread. My husband and I figure Purina went Medieval because the Julian Calendar is so nice a numerical for the computer… and some science still use Julian like the Naval Observatory.

They did keep a Century Code we all understand.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Time to dump Purina and look for another brand.
You're going to dump a feed that you're (presumably) happy with because you'll have to reference a different calendar to see which day of the year it was milled?

Bit excessive, if you ask me...

21 for 2021
347 for 347th day of that year, which is Dec 13.

Its not usually hard to figure out if you know what to look for.
