Hello there! I know this has been asked before but there seems to be a lot of misinformation floating around about the marek's vaccine and I'm trying to figure out the best thing to do for my little ones.

I currently have four chicks that are one week old. I split an order with a couple other people from a hatchery and I lost a couple of mine the first day including my kids' favorite the easter eggers. I didn't get my order vaxed. Someone just posted in my local group that they're expecting an order of easter eggers this coming week and will be selling the extras so it seems perfect. The chicks will only be one week apart which for us is a doable age difference to all stay in the brooder together after a couple days but his were vaxed for marek's.

Do I need to quarantine them for a couple weeks or will they be ok together from the start. I was planning on adding a little barrier in the brooder so they could see but not touch each other for a couple days and then add them all together. Or should I just pass on them and keep the ones I have for now?

Thanks for any input you may have :)

My order from Ideal shipped on a Tuesday. By Friday, when the hadn't arrived, we bought 8 chicks from our local feed store. They didn't vaccinate. Saturday morning the PO calls & my chicks had arrived. 14/20 survived & I did have them vaccinated by Ideal. Everyone was fine. Raised them together. All 22 are almost 8 weeks old & doing great!
