For some reason I have gotten two notifications that new threads have been started. They were by the same member, who I don’t even follow. I wasn’t watching either of the forums that were posted in. I also wasn’t tagged.

Push notifications are the one that open up a new tiny window on your screen and the alerts are the ones that show up on the bell icon.None of those settings seemed like they would have sent me a notification for those threads. Also, totally unrelated, but what does it mean when it says “alert” and “push”? What’s the difference between the two?
I never get any tiny window to open up. Maybe because I'm on a PC. Everything that I have checked "alert" also has "push" checked, probably by default, but I don't see the difference in them as the notifications of anything are all the same to me.Push notifications are the one that open up a new tiny window on your screen and the alerts are the ones that show up on the bell icon.
Maybe the post got moved from a forum that you are watching. Sometimes that happens to me.

If you blocked them in Chrome, you can turn them back on using the site settings options. Sorry, unsolicited information if you're not actually wanting them turned on.I never get any tiny window to open up. Maybe because I'm on a PC. That could be that I have them blocked in Chrome. I don't need any pop-ups, though, as I get enough notifications. If you blocked them in Chrome, you can turn them back on using the site settings options. Sorry, unsolicited information if you're not actually wanting them turned on.
