Unwelcome visitor caught on camera

Glad to hear that you're familiar with black bears. Please understand that those responding here, including myself, don't know your background. If the advice is overly cautious, the person that doesn't need it doesn't get hurt.

All the best! And good luck with that bear!

One possible solution that hasn't been brought up, but may be helpful..... apparently there's been a lot of women lately that prefer to spend time with bears over men. You might ask around and see if there's a young lady in the neighborhood who happens to be looking for a bear.

I might have the details wrong. I'm not good with these meme things.

Oh my is this a joke?! 😂😂😂We will not be rehoming the bear. 😂😂😂

Regarding the advice - absolutely! It's all very good advice & shows how caring this community is. The mistake is mine. I should have been clearer in my initial post. I didn't mean to spark panic. I just thought it would be fun to share the photo and didn't think beyond that.

We also have a very adept LGD. I usually have her up at night for my peace of mind, but she's being allowed to visually guard right now so she can alert us. We have motion-detector lights around the coop, and those not only signal us that something's afoot but it also allows her to see what's in her territory. I won't be sleeping well right now anyway, so we're just letting her bark lol.

The advice is great, and it's well taken. Much thanks to you all.
