We're getting back into the peafowl, we've had them a couple years ago.
Did you see those huge ones at the swap, I was tempted to get a better look but I'd probably end up taking them home and we don't have room.
There were alot of pretty birds there I would have just loved to take home. I would really like to get some woodducks and/or manderines but I just don't have a place for them
I really liked the variety of pheasants there.. I really liked the golden/yellow ones and the white peafowl.
May I ask where in mid Minnesota you are located?
I've never been to the one in Jackson but I've gone to a few others. I went up to the exotic animal auction in Perham last year. It started at 10:00, I got there about 9:30. I left at 5:30 and the still were not even close to the poultry. They figured it would probably be about 7:30 or 8:00 before they even started them. I know better now, I usually go later so I'm not wasting the whole day watching goats go through the arena (Unless you want to see about 300+ goats). I liked the one in Pierz the best. It's a two day with the hoofed stock one day and poultry the next day. Of course, you still get to see about that many rabbits instead of goats but at least they mix poultry in with them. Otherwise it gets to be a very long day. If there is a number to call, you can maybe narrow down the time a little.
There's one in Barnesville too- an auction. They run it in the spring and the fall. I went to the fall one last year and was amazed at the amount of STUFF there. The good thing is they run two rings- one for poultry, rabbits and equipment and the other for hoofed animals...that is, of course, if you're not looking for both goats and birds
There is a swap meet close to Hibbing Mn. it is at the Clinton town hall .This one is not very big but they have a rummage sale the same day so it is kind of fun to attend. It will be on April 19 ,2009 and it goes from 11am -5pm
