Howdy!

Thought you might like to see how we upcycled an old playscape that was no longer being used and turned it into the run for our chicken coop.

We purchased a hen house and painted it to match the playscape. We turned the upstairs playhouse into the shed for housing all the chicken stuff. And, my favorite part is we turned the big yellow circular slide into a silo. We are choosing to use leaves and grass clippings for deep litter method, and are storing our leaves in the slide turned silo. It's working out extremely well. Hope you enjoy the project, and please let me know if you have any questions. My husband and I designed and built it ourselves in 3 weeks of construction.

I'll take more pictures tomorrow and post them.

It gets about 35 F at night here. I lock the chickens in the henhouse at night, so I think they will be ok.
ok, some pre-fab coops are really poorly made (no proper ventilation, drafts, thin walls, ect..) but since silkies have no single Combs to get frostbitten, and 35 is relatively warm I think their fine.... Love the slide silo btw!
