To give hope to those with serious wing injuries... Our 4 wk old leghorn that had its wing completely pulled out/torn off by our chihuahua is doing great!
Once we stopped the bleeding, and treated her with antibiotics, and wrapped it... she continued to get out of the wraps. So we kept her quiet, and antibiotics and electrolytes in the water with a warm light over head.
It has been nearly a week and she is as feisty as the rest of the babies! Soon we will reintegrate her with the others.
They are tough little birds!
