So I've finally taken pictures of my chickens this evening I've taken a few off and on but got pics of all 13 of them tonight.
I have 5 Rhode Island Reds and 2 silkies (white and buff) that are 12weeks old and 6 Cochin chicks that are about 3 weeks old now! I sold some of my silkies and Rhode Island reds to have a more manageable number and make room for different breeds as time goes. I also figured out I'd like to breed blue, black and splash silkies in the future so knew I didn't need as many. I kept a white and buff and the buff (roo I believe) is my little baby my son lovingly named ruby
he does this coo sound over and over when he hears me and wants to be near me and will rub aaiinst my legs. All of my Rirs are friendly especially my roo hell come to the door with my buff silkie and if I have the door open they come on inside! Lol
My older chickens have free range time every day when im home they are so tame and will jump up and perch on my lap. They come right to me when they know 'its time' it's almost like they form a line to go inside for the night. Sadly I haven't spent much time with my Cochins and idk that ill be able to do this with them
they are OK with me but I just haven't had as much time put in with them. I never thought I could form such a bond with chickens, I truly love spending time with them, watching and taking care of them. I'm learning each of their personalities slowly.
Anyway here are a few pictures, they aren't the best but you get the idea.
