Update*** Are the eggs ok!!!

My girls went out today with two suspected duds and cracked them open. They had veins but were watery and well past day 21. Ew.

I open one just a little bit- (How far should i open!!!)
But the little bit that i opened there was yellow stuff.. was that the yolk!!
What else should i do!!

no- but should the hole be big!!!

Sounds like a quitter, some people get rid of it then however I would continue until I could see the baby doubt it if its alive but its all up to you..

It should be big enough so that you can see what's going on that is if your up for it. You kind if like doing an autopsy.

At this stage you are opening eggs that have either not develpted or have died late in incubation. If you are set on opening them, open the fat end large enough to see inside, use a flashlight if you need to get a better look. Be prepared for what you may or may not see and the smell that might come with it. Don't open them with the mind set you are helping a live chick hatch, or saving a chick.

Open the 2 that was dud from the float test- And it was rotting they didnt develop and it wasnt a bad smell
