UPDATE: I called the feed store today to inquire about the chick, and it's good news. The owner of the store had been using warm, wet paper towels on the chick's eyes to get them opened, and they did. She lived with her eyes stuck shut for two weeks, and now she can see. I now have a favorite feed store.
Asking a question.... would a little olive oil on a q-tip and dabbed on her eyes work as well or better than water? I was just thinking about times I've seen eye infections (conjunctivitis) and how crusty and hard the ooze could be. Oil might be able to sit there for awhile and soak whatever is holding them closed. Thoughts?
