UPDATE!! Blind Tiny moved into her Townhouse!! **LOTSA PICS**

my experience with bantams is that they are usually at the bottom of the pecking order especially with bigger birds. so i think that a bantam would be great. i would choose a cochin or a silkie if i were you, which are the sweetest bantam breeds

Great little Tiny Townhouse!!!

Trish, I love Tiny's Townhouse! She is so lucky but she deserves it as she seems so very sweet. Don't give up on finding her a buddy. Try a bantam, cochin or silkie and you may find the other loner bird out there. There always seems to be one in every flock.
My b.r., Lucy hangs out with a buff orp. Lucy is the only one out of almost thirty birds that likes to be held. I would bet if you put a nest box in the corner of her little townhouse she would use it when it comes time for her lay eggs. Good luck. Your DH did a marvelous job.

It's so nice to hear that Tiny is doing so well. I can remember when you got her and the struggles she had just trying to eat and drink. I somewhat remember you stating that you were worried about her drowning in her water and I can also remember you scattering the food on the floor in the area of the brooder box that you made for her. Her house looks awesome. You know Crested Polish are docile too since they seem to also be at the bottom of the pecking order. At least mine are. I've got one that follows you around like a dog. I think they're so calm because they can't see as well as the others due to their crests. Just an idea if you're ever inclined to find her a suitable roomate. Give DH a BIG HUG from us wives that appreciate the sacrifice they make everyday to make our other "children" happy and content.

That is so cool! Good for you taking such good care of her! Do you think you might let her brood a bunch, if she gets broody later on? I bet she would make an awesome mom, she probably has awesome instincts, because of her blindness.

Enjoy, Tiny!

Oh my gosh, I never thought about the fact that she may go broody one day! How on earth will I handle that one.

Tiny's townhouse is adorable. What a great idea. I was wondering, how does she get around being blind, I mean she doesn't stumble or bump into things? Does she just go around slowly? Great job on her own little place.

She walks very slowly and takes high steps. She even gets on her roost on her own. I don't know how she does it. She had a very hard start as a baby. She was near death for a while but she figured everything out. I have her townhouse set up a certain way and I'm not going to move anything. She knows where everything is now and if she goes out in her run she can find her way back in without a problem. It helps to that the door of her house opens down into a ramp.
