UPDATE........Canaan, NY Berkshire Farm Center, Sept 20th, tail gate

Berkshire Farm was a great swap in the spring. I did really well with what I sold and came home with lots more. This time I will be bringing Buttons, 2 Valley Quail, 2 pr. of Fantail Doves- hatched this summer, a pr. Ruens, and my summer hatchings of Red Golden Ornamental Pheasants. I think thats it.

Looking for Bantoms chickens and ducks.
Hope to see a lot of you there.

I will have with me Applications to join the Adirondack Avian Society and imfo.

Peeps, I think we may be interested in some cochins...beside the others....
Are they pure?

I'm making a BYC sign for my car....

My cochins are pure. They hatch blue or black. I have a B/B/S Roo over a black hen. My motled's should be producing any day. I just sold all the cochins I had in the brooder, except 2 I kept for myself. If I were a hatchery, I'd be on back order. They seem to sell better than the silkies. Which by the way, I lost my white one to a dog

It was entirely my fault,I'm far from being over that one.....Here's a pic of one of the cochins. They all had great feathering to the second toe. I have over a dozen that should be hatching between tomorrow & the 19th

Does one need to be NPIP certified to sell chicks there? I'm hatching Serama chicks, which I ordered by accident, that I won't be able to keep. They are due on the 17th. This is provided I'm able to successfully hatch them, it being my first time. We're on day 12, looking good so far. So if they hatch, should I even bother to pay the $10 seeing that I have no idea if the women whom I bought the eggs from has been certified or not?

I'm debating whether to bring my son, who has been nagging me blue for the last 6 months about buying him a rabbit. If I bring him, there is no way I'm going to be able to walk outta that place without buying one. On the other hand, I think going with me would be a good experience for him. Hmm, what to do, what to do

No, you don't have to be certified for anything. But, that being said...you get what you pay for. So know you stuff!!!

And...um...er... i have bunnies coming....

My son's really interested in the cochins after he saw all of them at the fair. So, if you bring them, I'm sure we'll be coming home with some.

I tried to see if Woody placed the ad on Craig's list, he did, but they took it down. i'll be calling him today, didn't see him at the fair.
