Update - Growing up

Momma is a black copper marans, daddy is a light brahma. There doesn't seem to be a speck of black on it! It will be interesting to watch this little one grow up.

Nope, they are my eggs. I only have the one black copper hen and I have two roos - a tiny serama and my light Brahma.

This is so interesting - #3 just hatched and, yup, all three are white! I haven't taken them out of the incubator yet, but they seem to have feathering on their legs but none on the feet. I'm definitely going to keep them and see how they develop. My new designer chicks! I'll post more pics when I move them to the brooder. There are still 2 more to go.

Some lines of BC's (can't remember which ones) have a tendency to throw wheaten colored chicks.

Now there are three - all white! None look like Mom. One has a hint of a black spot on one wing. It's going to be fun to watch them grow up and see what color eggs they lay.

Wheaten chicks hatch out that color. If they are going to be wheaten colored they will start getting color on their wings in the first few days.
