UPDATE: HELP...Day 21 in bator, very little movement now

Stressing! Need help please!? Since day 18 it's been rocking and rolling very regularly, now it's day 21 and the little guy isn't moving as much...do we need to help it?????? If so, how???

And we've read the to intervene or not thread, but couldn't find anything if the baby hasn't pipped yet...

Hi KY hang in there, go up to the Read me's - there is a whole helping thread. Go over that. Get the baby an air cell hole now, a small one. And candle to see where it is.

Then follow the helping directions. GO SLOWLY a tiny bit at a time. Put her back, let her rest a couple hours, do a tiny bit more. Once you know she has air, you're NOT in a rush any more - if there is any blood at all, wrap her up, put her back let her rest for another hour or two.

Rushing kills chicks if you are going to help. I just spent almost 40 hours helping a poult who'd been in a cold and damaged egg under his momma. Little bits work.

I'm not feeling good about this, actually totally depressed...I think we've lost her and she was the last one of this whole batch, not one made it...

UPDATE! I SEE LIFE! I started to zip it and it moved!!!!!!

After I opened the hole some more, it looks like the membrane is completely detatched from the shell, I tried to poke a lil hole in it and it drew a lil blood, but then she wiggled!...I still have some hope!

Would it be wrong to pull off as much as the shell as I can see isn't touching her?...She's alive, but not trying to move so much...I can see her beak open and close very frequently thru the hole I made...

Air is a good thing... If you can see her beak, run some hot water in the sink, get a q tip and damp the membrane where you can see it inside the egg - being careful not to get water near her beak.

Cover all but a little of the hole and let her rest for awhile. If the membrane bled she needs to rest and finish drawing in the blood.
