Some of my favorite hens and ducks have been going missing for the last couple of days. Today my DH yells, and said" honey you better get out here, I know what is taking your hen's". I go running, and there it is a dad gum fox. A red fox, broad daylight came into my yard and took one of my girls while DH was standing there. Sucker was fast couldn't get to her in time. I set the dogs on it, but they didn't get it. I called DNR, and they told me if I could to shoot it because it will keep coming back. Well, it has been coming for about a week now. Problem is DH took the shot gun away from me cause I told the neighbor I would shoot his dog if it killed any more of my birds. We don't have animal control. Anyway, I am going to have to camp out now. I hate to shoot it, I told DNR I would rehome it, but they said the best thing to do is shoot it.

I woke up this morning to a barn full of dead chickens, It came back last night, and wiped out at least 20 birds. I lost my mottled japanese bantams, and a bunch more. I have been cleaning up from the kill. Tonight, I am going hunting. I borrowed a .22 from my nieghbor, and I am going hunting. One shot, one kill. Out of 100 birds I am lucky if I have 30 left. It's my fault, I should have fixed the barn door.

I am camping out too!!! My son lays on the top of the garage about all night. It is so aggravating to have something come in and take your babies like that. Shoot it..We are if we can!!! They do and will keep coming back. They also multiply!! Good Luck. DJ

Get your shotgun back!

You have to get rid of that fox or reinforce the fence and put your birds on lockdown.

i feel your pain. i lost half a flock before i knew what was going on. i had a gray fox and they can climb trees.
also now i have a raccoon. i tried the staying up all night method and still mixed the fox. but i think he is taken care of now.
