Well I can honestly see why it would be hard to get the temp up to 100 seeing as there is no top to hold the heat inside, yes the light is over the top but its still open and will let heat and the humidity escape. Good Luck though

back to the heat lamp. my dad came in and chewed me out: he said that it was WAY too close to the cardboard, and a 75 W bulb would cost him dollars a night! and a 250 W heat lamp won't?
oh well. its better than nothing i guess, but the way he was chewing me out, might as well have been robbing a bank

i keep everyone posted.

i'll be setting on Thursday if my GLW keeps laying everyday until then. if all my pullets were laying, i could already be incubating! oh well, just can't stop molt

Best of luck, but i might suggest that you get a piece of metal or plexi glass and cover part of the box, that would capture some of the humidity released from the evaporating water. The only way we can learn is by trying and improving, you cant always go by what happened to someone else.
