The hardest part is always the wait but in this case, I could only imagine just how hard that is. Can you tell me what the humidity is in the incubator right now without opening it?
One good thing to keep in mind is that they now have a lot bigger air cell so they're getting plenty of oxygen. Now, I think it's gonna be up to them and the Lord.
Humidity is at 75% I've also covered them in a wet paper towel hopefully to soften the shell, they originally weren't due till tomorrow eve/Friday morning so maybe they just want to be on time.
Maybe. I'm not sure what the humidity is supposed to be during hatch time for ducks, but for chickens, it's around 65 - 75%, I think. So hopefully that's what it's supposed to be for the ducks too.
Not sure though about wrapping them up to soften their shells.
I read covering them with wet paper towels or wash cloths will help keep egg moist and humidity up hopefully I've read right :/ going to leave them over night and re check in the morning its 8pm here so hopefully more news in the morning.
Number 3 ducky has pipped on its own and is making plenty of noise the other two are still wiggling away but very very stuck in there membrane it almost feels like glue I am keeping it moist and one duckling seems to be wiggling free as soon as the blood is gone from the membrane I intend to help a little at a time.
Well the two duckies weren't waiting around I was chatting away to my husband and one of them dived out the egg followed a few mins later by the second the first still hasn't absorbed all the yolk so lay there for a good few hours the other was pushing itself around the Bator knocking the other egg all over that egg now has a blood bruise but he's still wiggling so I'm hopefull, the two ducklings are now in the brooder and one is fairly strong but sleepy the other is much weaker I sent my husband to the farm store and picked up some nutri drench which they've both had and the stronger one has even had some duck starter crumb mixed with a little water now only time will tell if they make it, Ill post a PIC of the stronger one.
