Three weeks ago I found my incubator's light had gone out on day 20 and I thought I had killed my chick. However, with MUCH support from BYC's one lone chick hatched. Now three weeks later she/he has no idea what a chick is and is doing great. She/he thinks they are part of the family. She/he is showing NO SIGN WHATSOEVER of being lonely and is growing like a weed. So for those of you who worry about a lone chick, don't. With the right amount of love and attention they will do very well. The problem now is if she will ever want to go and be with the rest of our chickens. Right now, I think not. I'm sure she/he is thinking "if everyone else gets to sleep in the house, including other animals, I'm not going outside." I want to thank everyone who helped me through the hatch.
