okay now i really think you'll be getting ducks

you cought the byc sickness and as far as i know there isnt a cure!

I second that! I started saying I was only getting four. I'm up to nine and looking at incubators. Plus, I've started trying to figure out ways to get more ducks without anyone getting upset. You've been bitten by the BYC duck bug!! It's a never ending cycle. You can't escape it. mwahahaha.... lol... but seriously... You'll end up getting your own ducks within a couple months (if not weeks or days lol)

insted of buying a bator i got a broody hen lol
i started with four then ordered 15. had a dog issue so had to order 15 more. traded a blue runner for 2 magpies rescued a pekin and mallard and was just given 2 swedish and i am now watching for a scovy. at this moment i have 22 and i have no idea how many more i will get. i keep saying that i have enough but i cant say no and i think that is part of this sickness

So true!! I'm hoping one of my girls will go broody once they start laying. I wish I could have that many!! We rent our house and for our county, you have to have 1.5 acres for the first duck and .25 for every duck after that. It's really dumb. We really only have enough property for five ducks so I'm stretching the limit as it is. Once we move somewhere permanent I'll get more. I might be doing some swapping though. (no one else knows yet!)

I know I love BYC....It does become addicting but it is fun and my hubby and I have learned a lot.The owner hasn't even come over or brought her daughter over to see them so this morning I told my daughter lets name them.

I don't think that they are going to make something to keep them in for a while and we are growing attached. At least I am my hubby asked if I will want to let them go at a pond near by or eat them when they get older.

I said just keep them if they get along with our chickens that we are getting.

well, i was only going to get 4. originally it was going to be 3 ducklings and a gosling. then i chickened out on the gosling and got 4 ducklings. then i reconsidered getting a gosling, but in order to get it shipped they made me get something else, so I got another duckling. i decided on a limit of six. i was good.... for about one week when i just had to have some black silkies. so i gave streemers the two ducks i hadn't named and picked up two silkies AND another gosling (you know because the other gosling would have been lonely without a another gosling

. so now i have 7 things waddling around in the yard.

i'm already planning my spring order... thinking another 10 or 20....

We have these two little ducklings now and on Aug. 3rd are having 7 day old chicks mailed to us. If these ducks end up staying with us that will be 9 birds that might just be enough for us.
