The others have a few days to go it looks like. This baby was strong and loud! He/she did dry out fast! I didn't have time to make an incubator, so the eggs are in a pie dish with dish towels in it, on top of bricks IN the brooder! I have a ziplock bag filled with water so I can use it as a water wiggler to keep the temp right. Everything is going great and being that it has been doing nothing but raining here, the humidity must be ok because that baby hatched out fine! I keep the kitchen towel folded over the eggs with the water bag on top to simulate a momma hen sitting on them...don't know if it makes much of a difference but it makes me happy..LOL.
This will definitely be an adventure, but it was so fun to have one hatch! Especially in K's room!!!
This is the set up....lol....High tech I tell ya! The heat lamp is keeping the temps perfect for both the eggs (because they are raised up) and for the chicks!
