**UPDATE Pg2** Chick with NO Appetite & Very Thin

Well while I was holding her a minute ago she decided to poo, thankfully i had a tissue! It looks like healthy poo with No blood... so What the heck?? She is still very thin though and her tummy felt hard lumpy when I brought her in, She is puffy a lot and is usually under the light or snuggled with the others because she's having trouble staying warm.

Well, on the night of the 1st, I warily went ahead and Wormed the whole group with Piperazine, I did it for 24hrs in the water like the bottle says.

The little 'sickly' girl is looking WAY better now & has regained her appetite too. I have watched her pecking and scratching around in the brooder and when i pick grass for them she also comes up to eat some. I let them out in the yard today and she looked really happy to be able to run around and pick in the grass & dirt for "goodies"!

I never saw any signs of worms in their poo but i did see a worm in my adult birds poo (their parents) and that's what made me decide to risk the treatment. I don't know hwo they would have gotten them in the brooder but it seems like it must have been the problem. She's no longer puffy or 'drowsy' acting, she even seems a tad bit heavier today and her eyes look much brighter!!

I will update again in a couple days and post how she is doing. maybe this can help someone in the future!

I don't know if it's the same with chickens. But if the mother dog has worms, the puppies are born with them. That's how your girl could have gotten them. Depending on the type of worm, they aren't always present in the poo. I hope she continues to do well , what a sweetie.

The parent birds had what i think was roundworms. I was also wondering if they possibly could be passed onto the babies through the yolk or something. Whatever it was I sure am glad she's doing better now.

Here's the little girl hanging out with everyone else in the yard.. you can already see how much less 'puffedup' she is and she just looks like she's feeling a lot better now
