It can take 24 hours from pip to hatch.

I had one that came out 5 hours later and some take another 24 hours I did have one that went three days but died the next day.

I got this idea watching our chickens. An EE of ours kicks plastic eggs around in the nest boxes. And another Astrolop has repeated been flapping, kicking and rolling in her ground nest to shake eggs. sometimes the others jump in and start helping to shake the eggs.

I'm certainly no "eggs-pert", but maybe the chickens are inexperienced too? Wrong time of year for eggs? I have never heard of a chicken shaking an egg...I've seen them peck and poke them around, kick them a little, but never shake them.

Yes, so much excitement maybe i haven't posted a picture. we've one out of ~24 eggs hatched. eight more are still in bator and day 21 is/would be Jan 19. i've little hope for them.
