Well, it's been a little over a month since my Wyandotte hen was brutally attacked by a hawk and came back to me in pieces. I wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice on how to deal with her horrific injuries, long term wound care, and the aftermath of reintroduction to her flock. I am happy to report that she survived her injuries, and the subsequent infection, and is currently awaiting some warm weather to go back out with her flock. I had questions at every step of her recovery, and it was nice to have such a valuable resource as BYC to turn to. Thanks everyone. I nearly lost heart that very first day when she showed up all torn up, and probably would not have tried to save her if I hadn't decided to stop lurking on BYC and actually start talking.

A great big hug to everyone. Thanks.

This is what it is all about
helping some one to be able to help a chicken heal and not let self confidence make you inable to help the chicken heal
congratulations for success
