Update.... spraddle legs I guess....

They are doing so so now. I am going to reapply the bandaids, I think one side is a little loose. They do keep falling over, should I keep righting them? Is that important or just let them be with spraddle legs? Keep them in incubator or should I put them with the others in the brooder? Would the shavings help or hinder?

I usually keep new biddies on an old towel as flooring for the first couple days. It gives them something that they can get a grip on with their wobbley legs. I have also heard of using newspaper with a couple layers of paper towels on top. Just don't use plain newspaper alone because they will slip around and you will end up with more spraddle leg. I would set up another small brooder (maybe in a cardboard box) for the wobbley ones until they are getting around a little better. You don't want them to get flipped over and get trampled. That way you can get them eating and drinking. A little energy will go a long way.

You have to treat spraddle leg early and keep treating until the legs are healed, other wise they will always have problems and not be able to walk right.

I have yet to have a spraddle leg that didn't heal up. Just keep applying the bandaids until the chickies are walking normally, it will probably take about a week. I prefer the fabric bandaids because they seem to stick better and longer.

I'm glad that it wasn't wry neck... It just killed me that my little guy didn't make it.

Good luck and keep us posted!
