I found bodies or bunches of feathers to account for all but one duck. Today, almost a week later, I pulled into the driveway and thought I heard quacking! SO I went down behind the coop and sure enough, there was the duck, down in the creek! I couldn't catch her by myself cuz of the underbrush but I'll set up some sort of pen and chase her into it tomorrow. She seems to be unharmed (she moved fast enough, for sure!) SO once I get her back, I guess I'll just have to go get another couple of ducks to keep her company, right?

YEAH!! So happy there was some postive outcome

Yeah! When I got out of the car I *thought* I heard quacking, but with the dogs, the wolf and the goats all yelling too, I couldn't really tell. So I gave everyone a treat and tied up the pit (she'd follow me and scare it) and went to the creek. At first she didn't answer, then I heard a fain response and I figured she was hurt but she was just being shy. About 50 ft downstream from the pen. So I climbed down the bank and tried to catche her but she kept just ahead and I almost had her onece but she slipped past and went back downstream. I decided not to freak her out anymore and just put a little food out behind the pen. (I'm afraid to put out too much or regularly for fear of attracting coons) I'll set up a couple fence panels and chase her into the corner hopefully today if I get off work in time. The banks are about 10 ft high and really steep, so I can corner her easily once I can work my way behind her though the brush (and poison ivy. ICK!)
