Update to "Mystery Predator-

Have you tried a game cam?
We have found them to be VERY interesting. Pretty amazing what creeps around your yard all night.
Including the human type.....

Hi and thanks.

No, I have not tried a "game cam." I've heard of them, but never knew what they are? Are they the same as a regular surveillance camera?

No, they run on batteries and will only take a picture or video when it detects movement. The price varies from $40.00 to over $200.00.

So awful
Good luck on your new build
Thank goodness we don't have racoons in the UK
Only predators here are foxes
Not true. There is Red fox, European badger, stoat, weasel, pine martin, polecat, European otter, wildcat. There is also the American mink, kestrels, barn owls and tawny owls, nine million domestic cats just to name a few.

Wow..this is great. Could also use for people getting on my property...

I'll look into this.

Currently working on an architectural "makeover" of my current yard. Have a good friend to get a consultation. He built a fortress where Chloe is now living.

Spoke with friend yesterday to see how she is doing with her "adopted" flock. So far, so good. She had her "chest bumping" epitsode with the leader of the pack there. Chloe was the leader of her pack.

They seem to have come to an understanding. She is dirt bathing, eating, drinking, pooping and has found her spot on the roost to sleep.

She really perked up....so relieved.

As I'll be gone the month of September, I don't plan to get a new flock until I return as it doesn't make sense and I won't be finished with the remodel. I will gently ask my friend if she wants to keep Chloe as she will have had her for more than two months. It may make sense as she will have settled in. As long as I know she is safe and happy I'm OK. I'll be getting all new girls, so it may not be a good idea to move her again.

Anyway...thanks so much for the info on the game cam. What a great thing.
