I have tried rescuing cottontails in the past... they are not very hardy in captivity for the most part. Very prone to being scared to death when they are so little. But maybe yours is stronger since it is still alive.

I really am not beating myself up because i know i did everything i could to try and save him. I just want to thank each and everyone of you who contributed your time to help me help this rabbit. Thank you all!

those bunnies are pretty fragile critters - they just don't survive injuries well.
it was kind of you to try and help it. yur a good guy!
