You could of dipped its umbilical in cornstarch...Do not wrap the Ducklings in damp towels..They will get chilled...That needs to dry and then fall off...You could use rubbing alcohol with a Q-Tip and clean around the belly button twice a day like with human babies...Only if the area looks red?...Other than that, put it in the brooder on piddle pads or towel till it dries and heals....Congrats!

so far so good...navel is really clean and dry with minimal scab so I gave it a shot this morning. definitely a bit wobblier but he's starting to keep up!
