Trick is to make the brush small and zoom in a lot.... Trying to get it done quick just gets you weird spots. Also, grass is easier than other surfaces to do photo editing on, IMO.

I use PicMonkey. If you asked me to use Photoshop I'd be entirely lost.

save them as "tiff". that is the highest bit rate. Massive files but you can use jpeg compression later..
