I ordered chicks from Ideal Poultry and they were shipped on Tuesday. I called today because the post office still has not received them. The last tracking scan was in Texas on Tuesday so no one has any idea where they are... :( While I am sure that Ideal will make it right for me, I am concerned about the chicks... Is there any chance they will be alive if they arrive tomorrow? I mean, I know they will be four days old, but could any survive? I'm just so bummed... It is my first time ordering chicks online and they were a Mother's Day present for my mom. :(

(2 Turken, 10 tophats (think Polish), and 6 silkies... Plus any packing peanuts... Lows have been in the 50's and highs in 80's and 90's.)

They might make it but could be touch and go. Hard to say. Make sure you have electrolytes on hand and take it with you to the post office when you pick them up. Get them drinking right away by gently dipping their beaks in water. Nutri-Drench is recommended to help with stress

So sorry hope they get to you safely

I purchased the electrolyte supplement along with the chicks... I'll be sure to bring water and a bowl to mix it in so that I can feed them before I leave the post office. So sad :( Thank you for your honesty regarding their survival possibility.

It's not that uncommon to not see an update until they reach your main distribution center. I would still be ready for them bright and early tomorrow.
I'm hoping they will be there. But it will be day 4. My understanding is that three days is pushing it. I will be hopeful though that some may still be alive. The post office knows to call me. :)

They have arrived at the last facility and are now on the way to my post office. I'm ready for them and have the water in the car to mix with the electrolyte gel that is coming with them. Just waiting for the phone call to say that they are there. I am hoping that some will still be alive but fully expect most to be dead. :/ 4 days with no food or water is really pushing it in my opinion. I'll update when I get them.
