I don't really know anyone around me who has chickens. I'm just at a loss as to what is wrong and what to do

If you haven't called the Extension Service for your state, that might be a good place to start -- they could likely provide you with contacts, and in some instances will make farm visits or do testing on your flock. Also, you could try posting on the forum for your state to see if there is someone within driving distance or someone with more specific recommendations for resources available in your area.

We care so much for our birds that it is heartbreaking when something goes wrong. If only they could talk.

I don't know where in Georgia you are, and here in Oregon the Extension Services are organized by county ... but here is a link to the "Poultry" page of the Cooperative Extension Service for Georgia. It has more specific links on the page:
