I love the way you used the natural slope in the design for the three cells. Fabulous job!

The chicken coop was the first building we did for farm buildings - we had been living on the farm for a total of 3 weeks, LOL. We were gonna build one, but then we passed the wood building sales lot, and decided to stop, and we saw this one for cheaper than new, so we just bought it and had them deliver it. I think the place is called Backyard World - they have dealers other than the guy we bought from.

Thanks a lot for the info. I really need to build a new coop but haven't had the time or manpower to do so yet. I will have one started at least before the snow falls.

By buying the building, we got the coop and run done in about a week - this new one we're building we've been doing between other jobs (took almost a month off of building it to do some other stuff that HAD to be done) but if ya want a fast coop, then buying a building is the way to go.

The extra stuff on the big coop was added later, but it was a week to get it "chicken ready" without all the bells and whistles. The porch took us a couple of days, the cupola thingy took us a day to do, etc... The sidewalk took the longest - all that digging out and leveling to put in the sand and paving stones... we did those as afterthoughts, almost - now hubby plans in the extras as we're doing the project - I tell him he just makes more work for himself, LOL he says he is creating "curb appeal".
