All these baby ducks were born today, 12 total, Different kinds. ill know better tomorrow what hatched when I see the chicks in the Morning after they dry off.

Its called a blinder.. It keeps hens from picking at each other or from fighting. I only put them on hens or roosters that like to challenge others. It works great! They have no problems eatting, drinking, mating, and brooding.
 
My first thought on the blinder was.. Good you have it on her - she wont go nuts when those ducklings jump into the water for their first swim. Very cute babies, and what a nice mom letting you check them all out like that.

I loved having ducklings. With the ten adult runners to care for now, I don't know how I would do it again! But in a couple of years, I am thinking of adding three or four to the flock.

Thanks everyone.

Ive noticed that Ive been able to get 5 weeks out of a chicken when brooding. Ducks do take 1 week longer. She's a very good mother. She'll keep the baby ducks for about 2 days, then inside the ducklyings come in. I dont want any predators to get the babies. We always pull the babies we wish to keep to ensure they survive predators.

I cant wait to see them this morning.
