Updated- Offered a free young roo, PICS in post #20!

My rooster is a barred rock rooster also. At first I was thinking of getting rid of him, didn't want to deal with a rooster. Long story short I'm glad I kept him. If you have children or little ones that like to go up and pet the chickens or whatever a rooster might not be the best idea, my friends rooster put a couple scars in my leg last year for getting too close to it. I didn't even realize what had happened, I felt a sharp pain in my leg and looked down and blood was flowing out like mad, then the rooster was sitting there bobbing and weaving. Deceiving how tough they are.

I do have a toddler, but she doesn't run around in with the chickens, at least not when they get bigger. I they are livestock and not pets to us, and a human aggressive rooster will not be tolerated. I don't want anyone attacked by one of my birds, it would be the last mistake he'd make.

We'll give this little guy a chance and see what he's made of!
