UPDATED PHOTOS- My 1st Post- My Chicks & Identification help needed.

Hi.

I have both New Hampshire Red chicks and Barred Rock chicks at similar ages to yours.

Yours - # 5 in the first set of pictures and #7 in the second set I would agree is a NHR.

The mystery chick #6 in the second set of pix is I think the same one as #12 in the first set, and I would agree with the others who said it was a BR.

Thanks for sharing your pictures! It's been so educational for me to see the development of other people's chicks. (I really do need to post some of my pix... sigh.)

Here is my stab at it....

#1 Light Brahma
#2 Silver Laced Wyandottes
#3 Red Stars
#4 Black Australop
#5 Rhode Island Red
#6 Barred Rock
#7 New Hampshire Red
#8 White Rock (front) White Wyandotte (back) what type of comb does the chick in the back have?
#9 Black Giant
#10 White Orpington
#11 Buff Rock

In the new pictures, I swear 9 and 4 are Jersey Black Giants. They look identical to my 3 chicks. I know mine are Jersey Black Giants because I helped catch them, they were still with all the hens.

There should only be one Black Giant (unless they shipped me the wrong ones).

At least it's good that I have one of them either #9 or #4.

Ok then... chick #4 = Black Giant. Hehehe.... I don't know exactly what a black Australop looks like. but #4 looks perfectly identical to two of my Black Giants. Want me to take pictures and show you? Either way I'll try to get pictures of them. I think they are pullets but they are way too young to tell.

(Those are my 3 Black Giant chicks. The last one is the older of the 3 and kinda ugly compared to the other two, but much cuter IRL. All 3 are very sweet and eager to meet the world, they jump into your hand when you open their cage because they want to get onto the floor and explore the world.)

Is it that the feathers aren't coming in in most areas? That is common with the JCxRs: they were bred for meat, having a thin covering of feathers is only a bonus when butchering.

Also, they tend to get their feathers picked out much more frequently than any of my other birds..partially cuz they try to hog the food
