Upper respiratory issues.Need Advice Quickly.

It sounds like your doing all you can do. Sorry I can't help more. Maybe try taking one to the vet.

I would but our vet doesn't see chicken. The closest bird vet is Clemson university. So sad. I might end up.loosing all of them.

Chickens are actually lactose intolerant and shouldn't have large amounts of dairy.
You need to remove the pus and get some antibiotics such as amoxacillian or Tylan.
Vetrx is just vicks rub for chickens, it might alleviate symptoms but not treat her.
DE us useless for anything and oregano oil can by caustic without a carrier oil
Respiratory infections don't come from mites.

So what did it come from? How did they all get it at once? I know I can buy antibiotics aty farm store and if not I can get pink liquid from my vets office. I just don't know how much to give and for how long. I have flushed there ears. I even had some antibiotics drops I diluted and put in there ear but we are still right here. It does to seem to be getting a bit better but without more help and knowing what to do I might loosey whole I tire flock. I am not ready to loose any of them.

Your response would indicate that you are upset about our conversation the other day - again, there are plenty of other effective ways to help and treat chickens aside from harsh antibiotics and surgery. Although they do work, it can be less than helpful to shoot down alternative remedies as you have.

DE is very effective at prevention, and has also shown to be effective at fighting internal parasites when ingested - again, contested but one can make their decisions based on how they'd like to raise their chickens and what they'd like in their eggs.

You are correct, mites don't cause respiratory infections. But lice infections can mimic all kinds of things. Furthermore, respiratory infections don't cause chickens to scratch to the point of infection.

I agree, VetRx, although natural, is worthless in most cases.

Lastly, suggesting chickens are lactose intolerant would mean it would be harmful to give them any milk or dairy. But, just like you and I (assuming you aren't actually lactose intolerant) eating or drinking anything in excess is harmful. Milk, in excess, can be used to treat things such as coccidiosis and also can aid in deworming - or just for general flock detox.

It didn't come from anywhere necessarily, but likely a bacterial infection. And it's not really a death sentence unless its not addressed. The pus might need to be removed beside healing can start.
You're going to need an antibiotic call Tylosin or Tylan 50, you may have to order it unless you have it already.
What type of antibiotics have you been using?

I have no advice, I have never treated a chicken for anything. I would hesitate to feed an animal out of their food choices. Milk in not a natural food for birds.

If I had parasites, then I would treat with pesticide according to the directions.

Sadly no. This isn’t my specialty. Find the source of dust or inflammatory compounds that can cause respiratory distress. DE is a bad source.

Your chickens likely have a chronic respiratory disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma galisepticum. (MG) Chickens pick this up and it takes up residence in their cells and then when they experience stress, it flares up. Often, it resolves on its own and natural remedies are fine to use.

However, if it lingers and even becomes worse, and it sounds like it has, then an antibiotic may be needed or some of these birds could die. Often what happens is bacteria moves in to infect the mucous and inflamed tissues. This is what the antibiotic is for.

Very important to read this if you plan on eating the eggs or meat from the sick chickens, after dosing them with antibiotics.
