Upper Respiratory Strikes Again

Can you weigh her on a food scale? It's a good idea to weigh them daily when they are sick. You also need an accurate weight to calculate the medication doses.

Hello all! I am hoping to find some help. My favorite hen has come down with a respiratory infection flare up.
When I got her I didn’t know she had it but we’ve found it off before.
She is around 3/4. Eye crust, some nasal drainage, did have a foul odor, sneezes. I have done the 5 days of injectable Tylan-50. She’s had vetrx, we clean her eyes and do eye drops. She’s eating ok, drinking as normal. Her smell got a lot better thankfully. But now I’m seeing some greenish yellow poop.
She is separated and everyone else is not exhibiting signs. We got her from a gross coop a few years ago and it seems it pops back up every now and again. This time I just feel like we can’t shake it.

I’m not sure how to proceed. She lost a little weight but isn’t skinny yet. Still eating, drinking, and all! But I don’t know if I should do more Tylan or let it run it’s course.
If you’ve come this far in my novel thank you lol
I’m no expert and I have ducks but one of my ducks last year came down with a uri that wouldn’t go away. I used penicillin, the was recommended liquamycin and still it wouldn’t go away. I know someone who raises birds and is a wealth of knowledge it I was told most likely she is a carrier and stress can bring it on. She had been attacked be a Fox…I assume… but nothing awful thankfully but was scared out of her mind. It was suggested I use Baytril…available online on AllBirdProducts. Worked like a charm and it’s given orally. Tractor Supply, depending where you’re at Carrie’s syringes and needles online and in stores so you may want to give that a try! Best of luck! I know how you feel!

Unfortunately when I got to my coop yesterday Aziraphale was not doing well and I had to let her sleep:( She was my best girl and I already miss her so much. Thank you all for this thread and the communtiy. I hope to never deal with the same problems again but this has been some very helpful medical information!
