Although ragdolls are suposed to have more silky fur that requires less grooming, that's not how it worked out with mine. He had more of the cottony coat, that mats. My understanding is that in some of the initial breedings, when the breed was being developed, that was from the Persians that were used. I think that was with an eye to a fuller coat, that would look good in the show ring. He lost a lot of fur on the furniture. As long as you are willing to groom your cat, no matter what type of coat it has, it shouldn't be a problem.
My ragdoll had a great personality and was very outgoing. He was more like a dog, than a cat. He was a great cat. Very loving and easy going, but playful, too. He was also gorgeous.
I also had a part Siamese cat. She was a wonderful cat and my all time favorite. Very loving, interactive and smart.
I think you could end up with a fantastic cat.
