upset rooster

If she hasn't passed it in a few hours (in many cases they do) then put some KY jelly or oil in her vent (inside, not just around it), massage her abdomen gently, keep her calm and relaxed. If she doesn't pass it by the days end then she may need surgery to get it out.

Does your hen have a stuck egg?

You can also put her in a warm bath. I think do this first then the ky.

I've had egg-bound hens, but I've only tried the ky-jelly and they have always passed the egg, often without any help at all. I think I've lost a couple to egg-binding, awhile ago, but I didn't know what it was until it was too late.

I'm not an expert either, just reporting what I researched.
