You can also put her in a warm bath. I think do this first then the ky.If she hasn't passed it in a few hours (in many cases they do) then put some KY jelly or oil in her vent (inside, not just around it), massage her abdomen gently, keep her calm and relaxed. If she doesn't pass it by the days end then she may need surgery to get it out.

Look up egg bound . Lots of help here. I'm still new and there's more qualified people then me. Sorry Gitabooks. You may be more qualified than me lol.
well you have more experience then me. I've just been researching myself.Oh no, don't worry.I've had egg-bound hens, but I've only tried the ky-jelly and they have always passed the egg, often without any help at all. I think I've lost a couple to egg-binding, awhile ago, but I didn't know what it was until it was too late.
I'm not an expert either, just reporting what I researched.
Why is the rooster upset that the hen is eggbound?well you have more experience then me. I've just been researching myself.
Glad she's ok . There's post on here about some of the causes of egg binding. I'm not really sure myself.Egg passed I put her down in some warm water just sit her in for about 10 min.-----she is ok now. what causes that to happen?
