I've been hatching for years and never had this happen. So I had all my eggs hatch, thought one was a dud so I candled it again and he was still alive and looked to be internally pipped. Since he had taken so long I made an emergency airhole, which I do often. (I'm a hands on gal)....when I candeled him again to check position I realized he was in a very weird Upside-down position...and NOT internally pipped at all!!! It lay at a loss he is completely encased in his intermembrane and is intermembrane and not picked at all with the top of his egg open I used coconut oil to ensure membrane doesn't dry or shrink wrap baby. I feel like such an idiot. I acted hastily. One because I wondered if my hen was to old because she is over 50 weeks and 2 because it was 23 days!! Please any advice from the elders. Lol will be much appreciated!!
