I was originally planning on breeding two and eating one but now that I am left with one we were just going to eat him. Your pair would be strictly for breeding purposes only. I REALLY loved my little girl she was super friendly but the last heat wave we had took her and the other tom. I was away and someone else was caring for them....just stopping by to check on them after work and the little girl was dead and the other died later the next day. They have an 80% covered run and a small area uncovered. They liked to sun themselves and I think they overdid it or something because they were gone. I have a big enough pen (10x10 tractor) I just need to get some haybales ro put around it and another sheet of Aluminum for the rest of the roof for winter. Where are you keeping yours?? Are they up off the ground or in the grass.

They free range all day and roost in a locked barn/garage at night-25 x 15 x 8 ft high-their new pens for the winter will be a 8 x 15 pen with a 6 ft roost pole...all my birds get locked up because the predetors around here would get them all I take no chances. This way they are out of the elements-I have a heater that can go in there if needed when the temps drop below - weather:)
yes its called GOBBLING!!! what an airhead haha

Ok so remind me... I have 3 goats, a WCB Polish roo and a black orp coming right? No one had a lav bantam ameraucana pullet... so Prolly good not to many birds, I'll need room for the goats

BTW: Myself and atleast one other BYCer thats coming to Chickenstock **cough, hack... CHICKEN STALKER ahem... ** are canners. I know personally I have a ton of stuff I could bring to sell if anyone is interested. I will have canned tomatoes, tomatoe sauce, caramel apple jam, pickled beets, strawberry jam, blueberry jam, concord grape spread, pickled mixed veggies, salsa and some other goodies. All of my stuff is made from organic fruits and veggies. I dont really want to pack it up unless there is interest. Anyone think I should bring it? I'll also be bringing some for the pot luck...
