We are lack of glamour on the hoof.

I'm curious. In Texas, we must, by law, have the house professionally inspected by some guy trained to do just that, before the bank will give you a loan so you know what all is wrong with the house and do negotiations on what the owners should fix, or take off the house price if they don't. Ya'll aren't required to do that in NY? That would make it really scary buying a house!

It depends on the type of loan, how much money you have down, and whether or not the property is being sold "as is". We bought a house that was foreclosed on, with an indoor pool filled with dead critters (weasels, mice [insert heebies here] snakes, etc.)...the house was filthy but sound...they were selling "as is" so no building inspection was required for the loan. Our second house we OPTED for the building inspection...turns out several things were overlooked (old farmhouse requires serious upgrading). If we didn't have a certain percentage down...we would not have been able to opt out of the inspection if we so chose that route!

There is always something that will pop up unexpectedly...but sounds like Nat got the shaft. That bobcat is pretty cool though!

Hey Gretchen...sorry for your losses. Did my two handsome boys come out of the daytime attack unscathed?

I did a test run of multiple batch brownie baking in colossal pans...they turned out great, so I know I'm good to go with that dessert! Yay to Dark Chocolate Ghirardelli brownies from the box!!! (Thank goodness for all the company we had eating them yesterday. Though what Brindle is making made my computer wet with drool!) I'm making everything the day before...if there is anything else we can think of, let me know. Napkins...puppies...salad dressing...puppies...my homemade Garlic Asiago Herb bread that would go so well with that Ziti!?!...ahem...puppies...?

They won't be ready to go home with people...but I just want to share in their cuteness! And puppybreath! They are Yorkie/Bichons...and will only be 3 weeks by swap time. What kind of kitties? My DH will shoot me if I suggest bringing one home...but as long as my assistants are at the ready to keep him inebriated...he won't know the difference!
