OK - I call a large "Got Chickens" shirt because it will go with my license plates and window sticker!
Maggie and Karen - the Yankee Classic is so fun - the building is so beautiful!! Wait 'till you see the sale area! Unless something gets in the way. I'll be there for the day - just not showing. Just like I told Lovins - it's not about winning - it's about celebrating your love of these animals and encouraging the same in others. It's about hanging out with people who think like you do. It's about picking the brains of all those there who have been doing this for years - and make sure you ask a LOT of questions! Poultry people are very happy to help those who are just starting out. Do NOT miss the opportunity to learn from so many experienced teachers! That's a mistake I made - boy, when I think of all I might know now if I hadn't felt like my questions were stupid, and felt too shy to ask! Even better, the two of you go up to the show secretary's office later in the morning and ask whoever's there if there is someone from the club who might be willing to spend a few minutes answering questions about showing and breeding. They'll pull someone out for you, and then you'll have a captive audience!
Maybe I'll see you there!
