UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

More and more things are coming up the weekend of Oct. 3rd. Could it get any busier?!? I've got the blinders on and am knocking people down if they try to stop me from coming (and by stop I mean lure me away). This is where I need a heisman trophy smiley! Eyes on the prize...eyes on the prize...got to pick up my silkies!
 
Did anyone say something about NOT getting up early on Sunday? Hate it when my mind is so busy, I can't sleep.

I lost three of my very best silkies yesterday to some sort of predator ... in broad daylight. And one the day before. I have never lost a chicken while the sun was shining and am so upset for my birds.

Now, I have to make the silkie pens 6' tall so I can put netting over them. And, with the sizes and number of those pens, it is going to be a challenge.

Got to settle down and figure out best (and cheapest) way to do it ....

(Why doesn't BYC have a stinkeye smilie?) I am a walking zombie. On a side note, Lowes is having AWESOME sales here...we bought loads of culled lumber for pennies, porch swings for $35 (was $158) which has nothing to do with coops...I'm going back today to see if they have netting and fence on sale...their prices are normally comparable to TSC...and now is the time they try to sell the outside stuff for cheap. Sorry for your losses...hope you can find a good bargain to build your runs.

So, does anyone coming want any kittens? One of our cats just had a litter of 6 and we are only keeping one of them, so they need good homes. Just a thought...
 
OK folks after a long thought process Im putting this guy up for sale. he's 5 months old and has his hormones going-the hens hate him and pick on him constantly-he needs his own girls:-( Is anyone interested in him? He was suposed to be a she "princess" and is now PRINCE haha
