UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

Quote:
I transport all my birds with big, old, thick towels in the carrier - WAY less messy than shavings. Also helps give them something to grip as they ride, and they're warm.

Not a bad idea!

Karen, I may just need to send you some lav eggs. DD isn't ready to part w/ her boys yet.

Great news...thanks! Don't mention Min Pins to my husband...it is one of his favorite dogs!

Okay...this is where I'm stuck. I am after a few more silkies (have 36 in the bator from Catdance/Karen

hoping for a decent hatch)...was going to the swap with the intention of picking up a few more from sq lines/breeder stock. Gretchen, Acid, Sportster Jer...you guys are bringing some of your own and from infamous Bob? I would like to focus on solid colors and BEARDED...I'm after white, black, blue, buff...but still open to any other color set before my eyes. I'm easy!

I remember pictures from way long ago...this thread is so long I might get lost trying to find it. (Gabby-num-nums all of us.) What are you guys bringing...how many, etc., etc. If you want to PM me prices, that would be fine. I want to be prepared and not have to hock my wedding rings on swap day!

(Edited to add...BEARDED silkies)

Thanks,

Meagan

I need to add...Nat...great job on those eggs!

Wow...do you hand paint those???

LOL thank you folks:) I hand paint some-I use rub ons for most-but I do have to paint a few coats of clear coating with the gloss to give it that crispy new look:) Im home sick today as well as DD and when Im sick I cook-and craft as much as possible .. I have 50 eggs blown out as of this am-DD helping to the duck eggs-wow those suckers are think-I also just got done cooking a 30 eggs quish-with all the egg yolks-sauteed onions-green peppers-bacon yummy!!!!! Also cooking more of the chili-I start from scratch with chili and cook a pot of sauce all day with kidney beans-then day 2 cook beef and drain then add to sauce to thicken all day-then it will be frozen--I think its 5 gallons of chili??

Do you have a pic of finished ones???

I know this sounds dumb but...how do you "blow out" and egg?

I use a 1 ounce needleless syringe-I poke holes on bottom and top-suck out all contents and then blow out the rest if needed ( those are kept in seperate bowl si my germs dont get in the food!) LOL I dont have photos of the finished ones but will get some when they are done??? at some point in time-like I said It tales me a full week to make these with all the drying time and such:-(
