Kristen, are you ever going to answer your email?! And when are you gonna tell us about your first poultry show?
Oh crap, well yah I didnt show.
I was too afraid to. Then when I ponied up they told me it was too late, something about books? Or changing books or something? Not sure. Anyway. I had to give away SQ birds so it was not a very productive weekend.
What are you - chicken? (Sorry my feathered friends)
The entry date closes a couple of weeks before the show because they have to know how many cages to set up, how many in each class, etc. If you come in late, your bird might be out in left field and not get judged with its class. Jeez, it's not about winning, its about being with other poultry people, like a Chickenstock. You should have seen the horrible birds I brought before I knew what was what. I can't believe they let me in! But no one ever said a word, except when I asked, and everyone remembered how it was when they started out, and they were very kind. These aren't dog people, remember - there's no blood involved. (No offense, Brindle) From now on, no more chickening out!! Do it because you love these animals, and want to help spread the addiction to the rest of the world. That's my mission, anyway.
BTW - amazing job on the canning! You're my idol!
