Woot. Been a long dusty morning (cough cough) but I finally got all the babies out of my sunroom and put them in an empty barn stall. Threw caution to the wind and threw the silkies in with the other chicks as they had been in side by side brooders for about a month and are all roughly the same size. Probably will go out there and find some eaten, but it looks like the blue orp roo is the leader and has only slightly pecked at my silkies (who are a month older than he is!). So my eight week olds SO FAR seem to be getting along with my four weekers but they have a huge horse stall to play in now.

My hubby wanted to use the barn for another purpose, but it's been sitting unused for a year now so it's a perfect place to stash chicks. Especially roosters - no one will hear them there!
