just got a batch of chicks in, 26 and all but one seem fine. It is barely moving, just stands there and is unsteady on legs, kind of wobbly. Not eating, drinking, or walking as much as the others, though some. Allows the others to knock it around or over, or climb on top of it. Eyes are only half open like it does have energy to keep them open or something. Frequently just sits down. I've dipped it's beak in the water and know it can drink, they have warm water with a little sugar in it, they have started feed and a little boiled egg yolk to eat. Not sure what is wrong or how to help it. One site mentioned a sulfa kind of drug. Also, not sure if it is just a chick that didn't travel well and is naturally weak or if it is an actual illness. Should I separate it from the others to give it better care and keep it from being trampled, or for the possible need of preventing spread of disease?

Please help, first time I've had any this young, thanks!

I have had this happen before, you definately need to separate it from the others to protect it. Set it up in it's own warm brooder. I usually make a "groul" to feed them. Mix warm water with some chick starter (let the starter get mushy), put in a boiled egg, and sugar and put in the blender until smooth. Then take the baby chick and force feed it this mixture. Make sure it stays warm. This has always worked for me and has brought them "back to life". Good luck.

thank you so much, I'll get right on it. I figured it was just a bit weak, but you know, nervous mama, lol. I appreciate your calming advice.
