Today when I got home I noticed that the red chick, that has a broken or enlarged leg, has an enlarged crop, its around to the side of his neck. You can see the egg yolk he was being fed but a large protion of it is foamy bubbles. What should I do? Do I need to take a syringe needle and pop it or give him some kind of gas relief...I am so worried about him.

I am sorry to hear that hooligan.

I am so sorry you lost your chick...
Now I am not real clear from your description, but it sounds as if you might have been describing an air pocket? Sometimes if the chick has access to shavings in the first days they will mistakenly eat that and if sharp it can puncture... it is wise to have the chicks on papertowels to prevent this.

At Atwoods he was on shavings but when I got them home they were on papertowels with the rubber gripper on top of that. We still have 3 and they are going very well.
